The Fructans, a species of humans entirely made of fruit, trace their origins to the mythical Groveseed, a sentient tree said to have been planted by the gods in the heart of The Wilds. This tree, unlike any other, bore fruit imbued with the essence of life and consciousness. During a great cosmic event known as the Solar Convergence, the Groveseed's fruits fell to the ground and took human form, becoming the first of the Fructans. Each Fructans was unique, shaped by the type of fruit they were born from.Society and Culture.
The Fructans developed a rich culture deeply connected to nature and the cycles of the earth. They view themselves as guardians of the natural world, believing that their purpose is to maintain the balance between the realms of flora and fauna. Their society is organized into clans based on the type of fruit they originate from—Citrus, Berry, Stonefruit, and Tropical—each with its own distinct characteristics.- Citrus Clan: Known for their sharp minds and refreshing energy, the Citrus Clan members are strategists and leaders. They are often tasked with making decisions for the greater good of all Fructans.- Berry Clan: The smallest yet most resilient, the Berry Clan are natural healers and herbalists.- Stonefruit Clan: Warriors and protectors, the Stonefruit Clan members possess incredible strength and durability as well as being keen strategists and planners.- Tropical Clan: The most diverse and adaptive, the Tropical Clan are explorers and innovators. In a desperate attempt to save their species, the Fructans embarked on a journey to find the lost seeds of the Groveseed, which were said to have been scattered across the world during the Solar Convergence. The Fructans' quest to restore the Groveseed had taken them to the farthest reaches of the world. Along the way, they have encountered other civilizations, some of whom see the Fructans as a threat while, while others view them as allies. The Fructans' journey was fraught with danger, from hostile creatures to harsh environments, but they were driven by the hope that they could save their dying homeland.
And they did!As the Fructans searched for the lost seeds, they also sought to heal the rifts within their own society, knowing that only through unity can they overcome the challenges ahead.
The legend of the Groveseed and the fate of the Fructans has become a tale of perseverance, hope, and the enduring power of nature.

Today, the Fructans are a technologically advanced people, with large vibrant cities (akin in design and overall feel to that of New York City) and can be found along all the far reaches of Earth- although you will find them in larger abundance in their homeland. Overall, the species is naturally inclined towards friendliness, allyship as well as co-operation. Many other species (including humans) have deemed them to be incredibly pleasant to interact with.
